I specialise in hand-made cards incorporating a wide variety of materials such as leather, balsa wood, cork, fabrics, beads & wire - in fact anything which adds an interesting texture.
Card-making started out as a hobby but became quite expensive as I found I could easily spend a fortune in craft shops, so I decided to try & sell a few cards to work colleagues. This was very successful & I now regularly make cards to order for special occasions. I then thought that if work colleagues would buy my cards, then why shouldn’t the general public, & have started selling at local craft fairs. There I found people were interested in more information about my products, so I decided to set up this website to reach a wider audience.
My cards are fairly modern & I prefer crisp, clean designs. I don’t do quilling, parchment craft, or flowery 3D-decoupage. My best card designs usually come about by accident - a fortuitous combination of papers, colours & embellishments! Most of my cards are therefore truly unique. I find inspiration everywhere, & am always on the look out for everyday objects that could be used on cards.
I only use high-quality card blanks. All my cards are blank inside (unless otherwise specified), and are packaged with the envelope in a protective cellophane bag.
Card sizes: Small (88 x 114mm); Standard rectangular (A6 or 104 x 152mm); Square (12cm - 14cm square); Large (A5) (NB these large cards are usually only made for specific orders. They are usually personalised & contain a blank or printed insert).
I do not have an on-line shop, but if you have a particular design in mind e.g. for wedding invitations or other special occasions, contact me at the address below & I will see what I can do.
Please feel free to browse the photo galleries. I will be adding more of my favourite designs to the galleries on a regular basis.
I do have occasional stalls at local Edinburgh craft fairs. Please see ‘events’ section for forthcoming dates.
OTHER ITEMS I also make a bit of jewellery. This is mainly for personal use as, unfortunately, it takes up more time than I have available. I do however have a house full of beads & findings, ready for when that time becomes available. I am also very interested in altered art objects such as picture frames & organisers / notebooks / albums etc.
At one of my last craft fairs a lady bought several of my cards not to use as cards, but to frame. This gave me an idea & I bought blank canvasses to make ‘collage pictures’. These are basically my card designs, but on a canvas to hang & use as a picture.
