One of my New Years Resolutions was to make birthday cards for friends / family birthdays & send them ON TIME. So far, so good with these first 2. I am really into patchwork cards at the moment as it uses up all the little bits of paper I can’t bear to throw away. Also it’s great fun going through my paper stash & matching up the pieces.
When I saw this picture on a box of particulary yummy chocolate puddings I immediately thought it would look good on a card. A good excuse to eat more chocolate pudding!
This Sizzix original snowman die is still one of my favourites. I use it a lot for ‘first Christmas cards. It can also be made to look masculine or feminine simply by changing the background & colour of accessories. The sewn-on buttons add to the character.
2 different styles of felt flower brooches. I’ll model them at work this week to see if people like them.
I have a stall at Septemberfest on Sat 24th September, Broughton High School, 11am – 4pm. There will be LOADS going on. Click on the poster for more details.
Do you remember the Carla Lane sitcom, Butterflies, from the 70’s? The title of the theme song makes a fantastic greeting to put on a card. I made this card for the Craft Creations August card challenge where the theme was ‘butterflies’. I didn’t have any butterfly-themed items in my stash, so it was a good excuse to get the Tim Holtz ‘Fanciful Flight’ die which I’ve had my eye on for a while.
Found these fab images of Facebook, Twitter, Skype & You Tube. I love the retro images. I just had to buy this new Sizzlets bird set with its cute bird & ‘Tweet’ greeting – it goes perfectly with the picture.
